Can You Keep A Secret

have you ever tried to tell somebody something
that to them would probably mean nothing
yet they so anxiously wanna know
but you just cant say it even though it might already show
and by the time you find the words that fit
you're not sure you wanna go through with it
because their reply, if they even have one
will be full of negativity and shun
you feel stupid for even thinking
and they can hurt you without even blinking
you can hear rejection but you hear no voice
so you've already made your choice
you and your feelings make a deal
keep quiet and never let them know how you feel
